The Eastport 4th of July Committee is an incorporated
non-profit organization which promotes a spirit of patriotism
through an annual Independence Day celebration in Eastport, Maine.
The Committee is organized and operated by volunteers.
No committee member is paid.
Each year, this event is held July 1st through
4th in conjunction with "Old Home Week". Thousands of visitors,
alumni of Shead High School,
and former "Eastporters" come to this beautiful island city to
celebrate our nations birthday, reminice with old friends and
have lots of fun!
There is something for everyone to enjoy while
in Eastport for the 4th - free outdoor entertainment, contests
and games, beauty pageants, an antique car show, arts & crafts,
parades and our Grand Fireworks Display.
Funding for these activites is raised through
private and business donations, vendor fees, and a voluntary road
toll. An amazing amount of volunteers all blend together each
year to successfully orchestrate the largest Independence Day
celebration in the State of Maine.
